Last night, out of the blue, Little Bit asked to something to the effect of, “Do we have a family?” I’m fairly certain she already knew the answer to that question, but we talked about all the people of our family for a bit, both immediate and extended. And trust me, that’s a lot of people!! It just struck me how blessed we are to have a loving family all around. Our girl has grandparents who adore her, a host of aunts and uncles who dote on her, and a bunch of cousins to play with ranging from babies to adults with babies of their own. And I realized that out of all those folks, there’s not a one that I worry would knowingly harm our child in any way. When the news is full of Amber Alerts and so much worse, I am very grateful for that and thank the Lord for the resulting peace.
