Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
II Corinthians 1:3
I am thankful for blankets. Our home is scattered with blankets of various fabrics and sizes to grab when we need them. They’re just so cozy and comforting. Even when it’s too warm to need one, I don’t sleep well unless I’m snuggled up in a blanket. I guess it’s something about feeling secure and protected.
Little Bit loves her blankets, too, and she has several that float around. There’s a specific one for sleepy time, and it must be fixed a certain way. There’s a travel blanket and little blankets for her babies. And there’s even a “picnic blanket” to catch the crumbs when she eats on the couch!
As much as we love blankets, there is a covering that is more reassuring than any fabric imaginable, and that is the presence of God. I feel safe, secure, and downright cozy knowing I am held by the creator of everything. Now that is comfort to be thankful for!!
