Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
III John 1:2
I am thankful for my health. My body doesn’t feel 20 (or even 30) anymore, but it would be silly to expect otherwise. What ailments I do have are minor, especially when I think of all the things that other people I know are dealing with. I am so grateful to be able to get out of bed each morning and take care of my family. I am thankful to not be in a hospital or taking a big list of medicines or depending on someone else to take care of me. Since I was born, I’ve only had to stay in the hospital the one time when Little Bit was born. As accident prone as I am, I’ve never had a broken bone. And when filling out medical history papers at an appointment, it’s a blessing to be able to check “no” for almost all the possible complaints. My prayer is that I will use the strength God gives me to do His will and not squander it on stuff that doesn’t even matter.
I would also like to mention that I am thankful for the veterans who have fought for our freedom. I appreciate all they have sacrificed to serve our country and help keep us safe.
