Day 22 (Time): 30 Days of Thankfulness

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Colossians 4:5

I am thankful for time. Time spent laughing with family and friends. Time spent running around the yard our snuggling and reading with our little girl. Time spent drinking coffee quietly in the mornings with my husband. Time spent listening to someone who needs to talk. Time spent preparing a meal and sharing it with loved ones. Time spent worshipping with my brothers and sisters. Time spent talking to someone about Jesus. Time spent in prayer, talking with my Lord. Time spent praising His name. Time spent holding someone’s hand or giving them a hug. Time spent chatting with a stranger in the grocery store or just sharing a smile.

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Luke 10:41,42

Those are some of the things that come to mind when I think of the phrase, “Remember that time when…” I don’t find myself saying things like, “Remember that time when all my floors were clean?” or “Remember that time when we watched all those shows?” or “Remember that time I alphabetized my spices?” There’s a time and place for those kinds of things, but they’re not the moments people remember and cherish and that make a difference in people’s lives.

…that there should be time no longer

from Revelation 10:6

Our time on earth is limited, so I want to make the most of it. I want to spend my time in a way that is pleasing unto the Lord, so that when time is ended, I can spend it with Him forever in heaven.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I John 2:17
