I Always Wanted a Little Girl

So…this post is a day late, but that’s just how I do things!

Hearing Little Bit say, “Happy Mother’s Day,” is one of the sweetest phrases I have ever heard. It didn’t get old over the previous two days, even though she said it countless times! And I will never get tired of the endless hugs and kisses when she’s being so loving. She’s almost four, and I still have to pinch myself sometimes because she doesn’t seem real! Another thing she says that melts my heart is, “I always wanted a mama.” I think those words are a combination of me telling her about always wanting a little girl and a phrase from the book, Corduroy, saying, “I always wanted a friend.” I also smile all over when she says, “Mama, you’re my favorite friend.”

It’s these sweet little moments that remind me just how blessed I am to have her in my life. Even on the tough days, I am so grateful for the opportunity to care for, teach, and play with this amazing little girl. She is everything I prayed for and so much more!
