Day 18 (Prayer): 30 Days of Thankfulness

Pray without ceasing.

I Thessalonians 5:17

I am so very thankful for the privilege of prayer! It still amazes me that I can actually talk to God, through Jesus, in the Spirit. I can praise Him and tell Him personally how thankful I am for everything. I can repent when I mess up. I can ask for help with whatever I am doing. I can pray for others. I can just talk to Him about anything, like a friend who is sitting in the room beside me, because He is there! And I know that everything goes better when I do talk to the Lord about it, asking for His guidance.

I am excited that Little Bit is picking up on the importance of prayer. She doesn’t hesitate to ask for prayer when she’s struggling with something or hurting (even when it’s a pretend ailment). And today she made my mama heart happy…

She woke up from nap a little on the grumpy side (normal) and was mad at me because I couldn’t give her my full attention at the time (in the middle of cooking). She fussed and stomped off, and I finished what I was doing. When I tiptoed through the house to check on her, I heard her talking and assumed she was chatting with one of her baby dolls or something. I creeped up to her play tent where I could hear her, and she was saying the Lord’s Prayer. I know she doesn’t understand everything, but I do believe she knows where help comes from!!
